One of the big questions for me when making a trip out to Saratoga for racing season is do I want to make the drive there and back to Buffalo or do I want to spend the night and get two days in a row? For the times when I want to get a room I have found a great place to stay is the Gideon Putnam.
The Gideon Putnam, which is located next to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) give the perfect feel for your “going back in time” horse racing adventure. The hotel is surrounded by Saratoga Spa State Park. On the grounds are the Roosevelt Bath and Spas for when you bring your significant other or you yourself would like to relax. Guests of the Gideon Putnam also will receive free shuttle service within the greater Saratoga area, which includes of course downtown Saratoga and the racetrack. After your winning day at the track you can sit back and relax at Putnam’s restaurant, which serves the classics, comfort food and contemporary dishes wont stretch your wallet as much as your belt. Sunday brunch is an absolute must for those here on a Sunday.
Check them out on the web and may become your go to place to lay your head after a winning day at the races. They do offer packages for racing season with Breakfast at the Track and the Starting Gate Packages. Call today and score @ 800-492-9662
Are there any particular places you all like to stay when coming to Saratoga?
