Opening Day - Del Mar - Free Picks and Analyst

Race 1

1 I can do This-finished 2nd in last 4 races vs similar competition. Today may be the day. Arroyo Jr gets the call for trainer M. Glatt. came back after last race with nice works.

3 Julius - $600k Purchase price. Broke maiden last at Churchill Downs - O'niel Takes over for trainer B. Cox. Ship and win can be a major player here. Sire- Tapit

2 Secret Courier- Good workouts coming into race. Kornier-Trainer and the owner angle.

Race 2

6 United- 2nd in Grade 2 last out. Mandella trains and gets top turf rider aboard - Flavian Prat. Morning Line 9-5. This horse should be big favorite at post time.

2 Acker - Sadler and Bejarano pair up. Drop in class, ran in a Grade 3 last out. Won 4out of last 5 races. Speed and should be in the front.

5 Starting Bloc- This race could have a fast pace up front and possibly set up for a closer. Victor Espinoza is aboard for A. Marquez. Marquez training well currently at 24% win.

Race 3

7 Moonsajem Accrete- Won a claiming 20 last out at smaller track. Now running at bigger track at lower level. The trainer is Tamayo who has 18% win percentage.

1 Oh Man - 3rd in OC20knX1 last out. This is a little softer of a field. Finished 3rd at Claming 25 level 2 races back. Miydai trains- this 4 yo should be right in mix at the wire.

4 Top of the Game - Drop in class. Lowest level of career. Hanson is the trainer and also the owner. Bet down to 4-1 in last vs tougher. interesting.

Race 4

1 Puriano- 2nd off the bench. Blinkers come on. Drop in class from allowance race. Glatt and Peirra are a strong combo. Good work tab coming into race.

2 Incensed- Trainer Sherman is 21% winner this season Finished 2nd in aa claiming 16 last down. Shipping down from North Cal makes me think this horse has a strong chance.

5 Giddymeister- Speed of the race. This horse is the one to beat here. It won 3 out of last 4 races. Won last by 4 lengths. Maladanado rides- he likes to get horses out of the gate and GO!

Race 5

10 Storming Lady- Espinoza/ Marquez- won 2 in a row with this jockey trainer combo. 12-1

7 Miss Hot Legs- Broke maiden nicely in last at this distance. Simon Callaghan trains - 35% win currently in standings.

5 Moreisbetter- 2nd in last out, just missing by a nose in last race. Hector Palma trains

6 Kiana's Love- Favorite at the post in last race vs tougher. Peter Miller & Jock Drayden Van Dyke pair up. Miller is a great turf trainer, one of the best in Southern California.

12 Tiger Silk- Mandella- nice works- First North American start. Prat rides- Strong Jockey / Trainer combo. Morning Line 8-1- getting a little bit of price for this combo. tough race.

Race 6

6 Golden Goddess- First time Maiden Claim race for trainer Steve Knapp. Sired by Goldenscents and born in February.

5 I want One- trainer Andrew Lerner is hot with a win percentage of 33%. First time starter

3 Lucky Daughter- 2nd start of the year for this 2yr old Filly. DeLeon/ Delgadillo combo.

Race 7

3 Smiling Shirlee- Smiling Tiger is the sire- speed with good opportunity to win first out.

5 Sassy Serb- Equipment change- blinker off for trainer Ana Meah. good works coming in.

7 Very Boisterious- Owner is Gary Barber. The trainer is Steve Miyadi who is 20% with 2yo

9 Liberalism- First time starter for trainer Brian Kornier- 1st start 24 % - Owner & Trainer.

Race 8

3 Jasikan- Irish horse trained by John Sadler. Prat decides to ride here. Won last out after overcoming a poor start. Real threat for the win. Morning Line favorite.

10 Norde- Trainer John Sheriffs trains. Victor Espinoz won 2in a row aboard. Moving up in class. 2 for 2 on Turf

1 Manhattan Up- 2nd in G3 La Brea 2 races back. Experience.

7 More Ice- Dan Ward takes over for Hollendorfer in training department. As 2 wins on Del Mar track in career. Horses for courses.

8 Gregorian Chant- D'mato and Talamo pair up. Blinkers come off. Prat goes t the #3. Favorite at post in last 2 starts.

Race 9

4 King Jack- broke maiden by 3 plus lengths at Santa Anita. Ward takes over duties and gets Mike Smith aboard.

9 Metrapol - won its first career start in last. Bob Baffert trains. Joe Talamo gets the call.

11 Bellerin- Mullins trains- taking horse from the turf to the dirt- 11% when doing so.

2 Cool Bobby Shanghi Bobby is sire. Finished 2nd last race vs similar field. Eurton trains.

6 Jack Van Berg- finished 3rd in last race in allowance race.

Race 10

8 Give me the Lute- Peter Miller on the turf. Finished 2nd in last at 5F distance. adding dist.

5 Satchel Page- Favorite in last race. D'mato taking horse fro dirt to turf. owner- Alexander

7 Unusually Handsome- Unusual Heat sire likes going long on the turf. Miller trains-23% first start with.

4 My Journey- Trainer Baltas on the turf is 18%. the Blinkers come off.

1 Bud Knight- finished 3rd in last after moving up in class. Powell and bug Diaz jr pair up.
